ART I SKETCHBOOK ASSIGNMENTS!

 

Sketchbook assignments are due every Thursday!

Pick any one from the list and spend 20-30 minutes drawing.  

You must the page with the title of the prompt you chose and the date. 

Make sure I know which page to look at - use a book mark, paperclip, or fold the page corner. 

 

They are graded with a checklist:

10 pts total

  1. Did you follow the drawing prompt and/or complete the assigned questions? 5 pts

  2. Is it properly titled and dated? 1 pt

  3. Did you put effort and care into it, and take at least 20-30 minutes to complete it? 4 pts

For each day late (unless absent), it is -1 point 


 

You can use any medium (pencil, marker, paint, etc), and any style (realistic, cartoony, etc). 
 

You may NOT use stick figures!  If you really can’t draw people, at the very least try basic shapes people.
 

Reference images are not required, but always helpful!
 

Have fun!  Choose a prompt you really like and have an exciting idea for! 



 

  1. Draw an animal doing something only people do.

  2. Create a superhero identity for yourself.  Draw it.

  3. Draw the most delicious feast you can imagine.

  4. Draw what you imagine heaven looks like.

  5. Draw what it was like in another time period or culture.

  6. Draw what a bird sees as it flies over your neighborhood.

  7. Draw what a worm sees as it crawls on the ground.

  8. Draw something you want to do one day.

  9. Draw the ways in which you wish school was different.

  10. Draw the most beautiful thing you could imagine.

  11. Draw the ugliest thing you can imagine.

  12. Come up with the idea for the next Disney movie.  Draw the main character and give it a name.

  13. Draw yourself as a cartoon character.

  14. Draw what the inside of your mind looks like.

  15. Draw a bunch of people standing in line.  Draw what they are standing in line for.

  16. Draw your dream vehicle.

  17. Create a new animal, and draw it in its habitat.

  18. If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? Draw that. 

  19. Invent a new typeface.  Draw the alphabet in that typeface.

  20. You are a fashion designer.  Draw an outfit from your new collection.

  21. Illustrate the lyrics to your favorite song.

  22. Create 5 new emoji.

  23. Draw a building you would be afraid to go into.

  24. Draw you and your friends 20 years from now.

  25. Draw a character from a book.

  26. Draw what you would do if you were a millionaire.

  27. Draw a pun.

  28. Draw something that is the wrong scale (ex: a giant chicken in a city, a tiny elephant in someone’s pocket)

  29. Draw someone who is very brave.

  30. Draw how you feel right now.

  31. Draw something that you would like to learn how to do.

  32. Draw a beautiful garden.

  33. Draw a barren wasteland.

  34. Draw what the inside of your body looks like. 

  35. Imagine you could tame any majestic creature (real or imaginary).  Draw yourself interacting with it.

  36. Draw an intense treasure map.

  37. Draw a terrifying storm.

  38. Draw a family of animals.

  39. Draw an army of animals.

  40. Draw the most insane amusement park ride you could imagine.

  41. Draw a mysterious key.

  42. Design and draw a monument for an important event that deserves a monument.

  43. Draw something underwater.

  44. Draw a terrible idea.

  45. Draw an inanimate object that has come to life.

  46. Draw what your parents were like when they were your age.

  47. Draw what you would do if you were shipwrecked on an island.
